Dear friends of the Fryderyk Chopin Society of Connecticut,
We have been watching in horror as war tears through Ukraine, innocent lives of so many are lost, and beautiful cities are destroyed. Each day we are in awe of the bravery of the Ukrainian people. They are an inspiration to the world as they fight for freedom and democracy.
Please stand with us as we provide support to specific and vetted charities, shelters, churches, and volunteers in Ukraine. These courageous volunteers are risking their lives every day to feed, shelter, and protect the vulnerable civilians in every part of the country.
Ukraine is the home country of Angelina Gadeliya, the president of the Fryderyk Chopin Society of CT, and she is personally connected to the leaders of these organizations, many of whom are risking their lives to rescue and shelter victims of war.
The people of Ukraine need your help. Please donate to the Fryderyk Chopin Society’s Fund for Ukraine today, to give directly to those saving lives on the front lines as well as in refugee areas and bomb shelters.
Every dollar will go directly toward feeding, housing, and assisting those who are suffering within Ukraine. Our bank has waived transaction fees to Ukrainian charities, to ensure that no funds are lost.
You can donate online by going to our special donation page for the Fund for Ukraine.
Please spread the word, and share this page with your friends and loved ones on social media.
As the Chopin Society is a program of the Polish American Foundation of Connecticut, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all donations are tax-deductible.
Thank you for your support! These donations can save lives, so please give generously. Every one of us can make a difference in this historic moment, to help the people of Ukraine.

“In the photo Grisha says goodbye to Orinochka near the border.
The day of departure coincided with the international day of orphans (rare) diseases. Our Orinochka also has a very rare disease. It's hard for kids to live even in peace, and when it's war.... Scary to even imagine. My life and ministry is connected to people with disabilities. Now I'm especially worried about them and I think if everyone cared a little bit about the needy, sick, physically limited ... !!!”.
Agape Ukraine, in Lutsk, Ukraine
This long-established retreat for children with disabilities and their families is now transporting people with disabilities from Ukraine to Poland using buses, trains, and any other means of transportation – sometimes barely escaping enemy fire. Chopin Society President Angelina Gadeliya gave a benefit concert for Agape Ukraine at the Lutsk Cultural Center in happier times.
Sergei Lysak, in Kyiv, Ukraine
Mr. Lysak is driving 60km to Kyiv every day, picking up food and other supplies and bringing them into Kyiv’s subways and other bomb shelters for those sheltering from Russian bombing. Posting daily updates and videos from Kyiv.
Light To The World Church in Khmelnytskyi, Ukraine
Sheltering 200 new refugees every day.
